Prewar Classic Six:
New York, New York

A young Manhattan couple on a budget posed the following challenge: Create an attractive workable kitchen from an existing narrow L-shaped space. Near the entrance to the dining room, tall glass fronted cabinets were designed for storage and serving.  A built-in refrigerator and broom closet flank these cabinets, situated conveniently near the sink and range.  The painted traditionally styled cabinets, black granite counters, and black and white terrazzo floor tiles give the kitchen a restrained classic appearance.

Later in the project, a cramped awkward bathroom was completely redone to make the space more useable. Handmade wall tiles, a custom medicine cabinet, and a white marble lavatory counter are among the new design elements.
